Check this site, and see if your browser is identifiable — no need for cookies. Mine was unique among about 500,000 “fingerprints’.

    Mine was at the 1:3k level until I temporarily enabled Javascript, at which point I went to unique.

    I think my usual level of paranoia is adequate for this concern.

      Yes, if you disable JavaScript, you’ll be much less unique. Also, you’ll lose most of the functionality of the sites.

      I do websites these days, and they use both server-side and browser-side scripting. Kind of complex, when compared to the old concept of HTML; now almost nothing is done in HTML any longer.

      I’m still unique with both Firefox and Google Chrome. Perhaps Lynx would do the trick?
